"What is his name again?"
"XXX."
"No. I don't think he is what you say he is. I suggest you don't hire him."
"Too late. He has gone through 2 rounds of interviews and is approved by the boss. He has a lot of experience that will help our company's new line. He is what we need!"
"What is his surname?"
"YYY."
"I'm VERY sure he is not what he says he is. Despite his experience, no matter what he says, I can tell you he will not help to bring in more sales for your company. He does not bring luck to your boss."
One year later.
"The boss is very unhappy with XXX's performance."
"What happened?"
"He couldn't deliver and perform way below expectations. The ideas he gave all flopped. Now I'm given the task to ask him to leave."
"You should have believed my words. I always have the best interests of my clients. Moreover it was free advice I randomly gave you. You should not have doubted me. I don't need one year to know if an employee can make it or not. I didn't even need his Bazi or his photo to tell you you got the wrong man."
"Well, we don't know till we tried. At least now we know better."
Jack Ma does not befriend and do business with 3 types of people:
1. People who drink till they get drunk
2. People who gamble
3. People who take drugs
I do not think highly of a boss/manager, who gambles his company's money on a cannot-make-it employee.
No one succeeds in a business, without a team of people sacrificing their time and youth for you.
Every dollar of profit earned is a testament of their effort, right down to the admin clerk. Don't belittle their contributions.
To throw away the profits this way is letting your team down.
The layman entrepreneur can say "don't try don't know".
They are unable to see the future the way I can. Maybe they don't have access to a Feng Shui practitioner of such caliber.
But for a manager who received (did I mention "free") advice from me, yet chose to belittle, it is selfishness and lack of consideration for the people sloughing away their lives for you, to pay the bills at home.
The fool speaks from the mouth.
The clever man speaks from the brain.
The wise man speaks from the heart.
The new line never took flight and probably never will. A year ago, Shifu already said the product name was unsuitable for the boss.
If time can be justified in monetary terms, what will your balance sheet show it as? Another bad debt?
This reminds me... I should just spend more time taking annoying photos of myself as a Fortune Cat, than to mind the business of other people.
